Madden NFL 08
Once this time of year comes around, you can tell that football is just around the corner. People suddenly need you for their fantasy football, segments of SportCenter are devoted to NFL contract holdouts, and the whole city of Buffalo goes into a mass frenzy, only to be disappointed 4 four months later. Another telling sign is the frenzy over Madden games, the most popular sports game franchise and for the most part the biggest seller in the month of August.
On the PSP, Madden has been hit ...

Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters
Ratchet and Clank have had a long and successful history on Sony’s PlayStation 2. Its action-packed, platform gameplay style was well received by gamers on the PS2 and spanned over quite a few very successful sequels. Ratchet and Clank are now making their way onto the smaller PSP screen and bringing the same successful gameplay formula with them in Ratch and Clank: Size Matters.

The best part about Size Matters is, of course, its gameplay. Throughout the game you will get the chance to play as ...

SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2
SOCOM is the ultimate tactical shooter game, right up there with games like Rainbow Six and Splinter Cell. In the numerous and popular SOCOM games that have been both on the PS2 and PSP, you play as a U.S. Navy SEAL and your missions are far from easy. Whether you are infiltrating enemy territory to rescue hostages, or blowing the lid on a large drug plantation, the missions in SOCOM are very true to real life events. The newest SOCOM installment for the PSP, Fireteam Bravo 2, follows up ...

Killzone: Liberation
If you’re into gaming news even the slightest bit, you were probably aware of all the Killzone hype at E3 2005. Sony showed off a pre-rendered (not actual gameplay graphics) trailer for Killzone 2 on the PlayStation 3, and people basically started bouncing off the walls. Most assumed that it was actual gameplay, since parts were in first person, and it was the best looking thing anyone had seen. Sony mostly kept quiet about the whole thing, but people began to realize that the PlayStation 3 was still over ...

Gangs of London
Gangs of London, Sony’s latest gangster PSP game, lets gamers get tangled up in the violent culture of gangs in the city of London. Gangs of London looks great and has a crazy amount of gameplay modes. However, it falls short on just about everything else and doesn’t have the overall presentation of a great game.
Gangs of London’s story mode is the core of the game where you will play through a story of 60 total missions. Each mission is setup with a short graphic novel type ...

LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy
Much like a great invention, Star Wars doesn’t fade out; it just gets improved over the years. Whether it is trading cards, video games, conventions, novelty items, pet costumes, or even LEGO building sets, we will probably never see the end of Star Wars. Let’s face it; Star Wars is an iconic experience for every generation. With the LEGO Star Wars video games, children get a particularly rewarding experience. But the fact of the matter is that LEGO Star Wars II also appeals to every generation—kids and adults alike ...

NASCAR
Nascar, by EA Sports, marks the first time that Nascar has been on the PSP in any form. Nascar for the PSP coincides with the Nascar 07 games, that were released at the same time for the Xbox and PlayStation 2. The EA Sports Nascar series dates way back, even into the late 90’s, but how does it fare for the first time on the PSP handheld? Is racing around dull oval tracks something you really want to play on a tiny little screen?
Surprisingly, Nascar for PSP ...

LocoRoco
LocoRoco is no doubt one of the strangest games on the PSP. You roll around a happy-as-can-be, singing orange blob and as you progress through each wacky and colorful level he gets fatter and fatter. As strange and bizarre as it is, it is actually extremely fun. LocoRoco relies not on stunningly high resolution graphics or revolutionary gameplay, but rather happy graphics and audio along with enjoyable gameplay. It sounds cheesy, but once you get your hands on it you will be smiling the entire way through.
LocoRoco’s ...

Lumines
Ever since Tetris became an actual word and, consequently, a cultural phenomenon in the late 80s; no other block-puzzle game could match the brilliance of the original. Many games came and went but no matter how much of an improvement they were, none of them were up to par. There is just something about Tetris that has kept people playing for almost 20 years. By now, it is generally accepted to have Tetris up there as the best of all time, so any game considered to be 2nd to ...
