The animations are also well maintained with silky transitions and the abundantly smooth visual effects that Guilty Gear games are known for. Executing EX moves are as seamless as ever, and combining them with quick combos makes for some good arcade action. While Guilty Gear, like Capcom's Street Fighter, doesn’t necessarily cater to the technical side of arcade fighting, the Booster Mode looks to appeal to some technical-fighting fans. So button-mashers and precision players both seem to get something out of Guilty Gear Judgement. The game, though, will also continue in the tradition of the series with the one-on-one versus, tournament, survival, and training modes. PSP owners can also battle each other via wireless play using the network option, which is also a safe bet for decent replay values.

In a way, the combined gameplay mechanics and modes make up for getting two Guilty Gear games in one. The only drawback is that there aren’t that many characters on the screen during the Booster Mode, which could dampen some aspects of the gameplay depth. Otherwise, it looks like Guilty Gear Judgement is going to be a really cool game. If you’re a fighting fan looking for an alternative to Tekken, Guilty Gear Judgement just might be that game.
